Carry a Digital Camera
You should carry a digital camera with you wherever you go.
In your truck
- To help remember what a job site looks like
- To take pictures of an accident
- Take pictures and identify all of your tools
- To show your manager how clean your truck is
Job site
- To take pictures of memorable work
- To help remember where equipment, material or tools are on a job site
- To facilitate learning something
- To help explain a situation to a manager
- To show your customer something when access is limited
- To help explain something to your salesman
- To help coworkers identify systems or components
- To help in teaching coworkers
- To show your spouse and or family what you do
In addition to taking pictures of job site and truck related items, take pictures of items that capture your attention throughout the day. You sharpen your sense of awareness when you are on the lookout for things to take pictures of. After a little practice, this tendency will come natural and you’ll hardly even think about it.
Are there any other reasons that you can think of to carry a digital camera with you throughout the day?
The Ryobi Tek4 4V 8MP Digital Camera is a beastly work-site camera that I’ve seen at Home Depot.

Dave, these are great reasons to carry a camera. One item worth checking though is to ensure it is okay to do so. There are some locations due to security and sensitivity of product development that cameras, even those in phones are prohibited. It is unfortunate but a reality to face in some places.

Great point Steve. I have been on job sites where cameras are not allowed.
